Daryn picked up wii fit yesterday and I’m barely able to walk up and down the stairs this morning after only 10 minutes of strength training on it last night.

We made fresh pasta over the weekend and I completely forgot how simple (and fun!) it is to make and how much more tender and flavorful it is than dried pasta. We had it with the simplest sauce of butter, wild mushrooms, butter, cream, garlic, chili flakes, butter, and a squeeze of lemon with parmesan and parsley sprinkled over the top (along with a pat of butter on my serving).
This segment on Velocity aired on msnbc over the weekend. I remember reading an article on John and Lara, which had been featured in Sunset Magazine years before I started working at Velocity, that made me really admire them and Velocity. Now that I am an integral part of the company, it is so refreshing to look at us from the outside perspective again. I really love seeing how we are portrayed in the media and knowing what its like on the inside.
I also love how John’s school teacher background, which plays into so many articles on Velocity, keeps reminding me of Airborne “created by a school teacher”. This is so funny to me because Daryn HATES the airborne commercials (which run primarily during Jeopardy), so I always add “but it was created by a school teacher” whenever I offer him anything I already know he doesn’t like.
We were so excited to find Beecher’s flagship cheddar on our most recent trip to Costco. We turned it into gooey grilled cheese sandwiches on the first night, and I made my famous mac n cheese with the rest of it on the second night. Although now I’m having regrets about eating a whole pound of cheese the weekend before leaving for Mexico…
Officially a Nakhuda! The last of my documents has finally been updated to my new name. And it only took me 3 years! Too bad the new passports are so ugly, I was really fond of my old passport.
